6th January 2016: German police decline the meeting request from An Garda Siochana to discuss Matthew’s case. The German Police still continue to ignore previous and new evidence.
14th October 2015: Meeting with Assistant Garda Commissioner in the Phoenix Park, Dublin. Outcome of the meeting is for the Assistant Commissioner to request a meeting between both the Irish and German police and Matthew’s family to discuss the case and the many unanswered questions within the investigation.
29th September 2015: New evidence comes to light, with detailed account of those involved in Matthew’s death.
9th September 2015: Meeting with An Taoiseach Mr Enda Kenny took place to discuss the evidence behind Matthew murder. Mr Kenny confirms that he fully supports the fight for Justice For Matthew. An action plan is discussed and underway.

29th May 2014: Based on recent feedback supplied regarding our email campaign, we understand that the private secretary of Mr Eamon Gilmore is responding to all emails that have been sent so far. The response states that the Department for Foreign Affairs is providing consular assistance to Matthew’s family. It is important to note that the email campaign is based on asking the Minister for Foreign Affairs to demand from the German authorities that the investigation in to Matthew’s death is carried out with the highest professionalism. The email campaign request goes beyond the Department for Foreign Affairs providing consular assistance, as it is specifically directed at the Minister for Foreign Affairs to make a formal stand to support Matthew’s rights.

2nd February 2012: Document of evidence consisting of over 400 pages provided to the Prosecutor in Mannheim Germany. He directs the Karlsruhe Police to open a Homicide investigation in to the death of Matthew Fitzpatrick

21st April 2011: Coroner Court hearing in Dublin, jury recorded an Open Verdict. The Deputy State Pathologist details the significant and traumatic injuries Matthew received. The Fitzpatrick family demands that the Mannheim (Germany) State Prosecutor re-opens the case in to Matthew’s death immediately
10th January 2011: Dublin police inform us that the Mannheim police decline to send their police report to the Irish authorities, informing them that the Fitzpatrick family must go through a legal process to obtain all documentation.
22nd December 2010: Matthew is laid to rest in Portumna Co Galway
18th December 2010: Second autopsy on Matthew’s body is carried out in Dublin by the Deputy State Pathologist
17th December 2010: Matthew is repatriated to Ireland
15th December 2010: First Autopsy is carried out on Matthew’s body in Mannheim
12th December 2010: Matthew’s family are informed of his death at approximately 7:00pm
11th December 2010: Matthew Fitzpatrick is found dead in his apartment in Mannheim at approximately 11:00am
